MOFI4500-4GXeLTE V2 Download/Firmware Update Section:

NOTE THAT IS IT IMPORTANT TO VERIFY YOUR MODEL BEFORE DOING THIS UPDATE

This download is only for the MOFI4500-4GXeLTE V2 version.

If you have a V1 or V3 version, you need to use the other download section.

In this download section, there are 3 downloads

– NON SIM firmware (made to work without the module) and to be used for usb tethering 1.9.9std

– For anyone who needs to use IP SEC, there is a special firmware for that, currently 4.3.6IP SEC

– The MAIN firmware to be used with the SIM4, SIM5 and SIM7 model.This is the most popular download, currently firmware 4.4.1std

 

Important Notes:

If you have the basic MOFI4500-4GXeLTE V2 and use a USB modem/hotspot, you should use firmware 1.9.9.9std
For iPhone USB Tethering, you will also need 1.9.9std

For Android USB Tethering, you can use firmware 2.1.8std or later

AllSIM4 routers should use firmware 2.1.8 or later for all providers
(if you have any issues with disconnect, it is recommended to use thisfirmware 2.1.8 or later firmware, read below on how to update)

For SIM3, you should use firmware 1.9.9std

Note if you are using a SIM4 with Sprint that was activated using the mofi router, you should use the latest std firmware

If ou need to USB tether your iphone, you need to use firmware 1.9.9std

If your router does not have the power light on after 1 minute for manyreasons, you can use this recovery file to bring your unit back up

Instructions on how to update the router:

To do the firmware update, you must connect to the router with a network cable from your pc to the router.
Take out the 3G/4G/LTE stick from the back of the router

You should not use Google Chrome to do the firmware update or anything else when you log into the router.
Use Internet Explorer, Firefox or Safari web browser to do this update.

1) Power on router and connect to port 1-4 on the back of the router or connect to the wifi network on the router

2) After router is completed booting up (takes approx 60 seconds) andpower light is solid, open up your internet explorer, firefox or safari
(do not use Google Chrome)

3) In the address bar, enter
http://192.168.10.1/cgi-bin/luci
username: root
password: admin

4) Click on basic mode on the top right and then click on the system system on the side

5) Click on Manually Flash Firmware which is located under System

6) Uncheck “Keep Settings” and click on Browse… or Choose File

7) Locate the file that you saved and click on Open

8) Click on “Upload image”

If the checksum is not the same as listed here, delete the file you have and re-download it.

9) Click “Proceed” to start the update process (may take up to 2 mins).
When the power light startsto blink, the update is completed and the router is rebooting.

10) After update is completed and power light is solid, you will be prompt to log in
If not, make sure you are connect to the router via wifi or Ethernet and go back to the log in

11) After you are logged in, do a factory default that is located in basic mode then system then factory default.

Do the default and that would complete all the steps for this update.

Instructions to install firmware 1.9.9std for the MOFI4500-4GXeLTE V2
Note: If you have a MOFI4500-4GXeLTE V1 model, you need to use the V1 firmware that is in our MOFI4500-4GXeLTE V1 section.
If your router model does not say V2 on it, then it is a V1 model.

Also, iphone and Android USB tethering as well as repeater mode is included in this firmware

If you have the non sim MOFI4500-4GXeLTE, you will need this1.9.9std firmware however, some hotspot support is also included withthe 3.XXX firmware
If you have a MOFI4500-4GXeLTE-SIM3, you will need this firmware
For the MOFI4500-4GXeLTE-SIM2 and SIM4 V2 model, you should use the latest firmware 3.XX firmware

Remember to follow the instructions such as making sure you connect your router with a network cable to one of the lan port
(not the wan) to do the firmware update (no wifi)

Instructions on how to update the router:

To do the firmware update, you must connect to the router with a network cable from your pc to the router.
Take out the 3G/4G/LTE stick from the back of the router

You should not use Google Chrome to do the firmware update or anything else when you log into the router.
Use Internet Explorer, Firefox or Safari web browser to do this update.

1) Take the stick out of your router if you are using a 3G/4G/LTE modem or stick if you have one in.

2) Power on router and connect to port 1-4 on the back of the router or connect to the wifi network on the router

3) After router is completed booting up (takes approx 60seconds) and power light is solid, open up your internet explorer,firefox or safari
(do not use Google Chrome)

4) In the address bar, enter

5) Click on basic mode on the top right and then click on the system system on the side

10) Click “Proceed” to start the update process (may take up to 2 mins).
When the power light startsto blink, the update is completed and the router is rebooting.

11) After update is completed and power light is solid, you will be prompt to log in
If not, make sure you are connect to the router via WiFi or Ethernet and go back to the log in

12) After you are logged in, do a factory default that is located in basic mode then system then factory default.

Do the default and that would complete all the steps for this update.

Note that if you want a wifi password, you will need to redo this.
The best way is to click on the wizard on the top left and thewizard will set your router admin password as well as your network nameand wifi security.

If you want to connect to the router with wireless from yourcomputer, just view your available network and you should see yournetwork (default is MofiNetworkXXX) or if you ran the wizard and changethe network name, that should show up now
Click on it to connect and if you set up a wireless password, it will ask you for this,
Enter the password and it will connect you.

IMPORTANT INFORMATION:

There are various models of the MOFI4500-4GXeLTE V1, V2 and V3 model
Each model has its own firmware and cannot use with each other.

As such, it is important to know if you have a V1, V2 or V3 model before doing the update
To know, look at the bottom of the router or the top

It will say V1, V2 or V3

This download section is for the MOFI4500-4GXeLTE V3 download
It is the same download as the MOFI4500-4GXeLTE-SIM4-V3, MOFI4500-4GXeLTE-SIM4-GPS-V3 and MOFI4500-4GXeLTE-SIM7-V3

 

If you load a MOFI4500 V2 firmware or any other firmware and kill the router,

You can use this V3 Recovery firmware to get it back up
Please save both this recovery as well as the latest firmware on the page below to your pc

Once you have this on, then you can load the latest firmware which is currently 1.1.8std
